Kingston SSDNow V Series 30GB Boot Drive @ TestFreaks

Today for review I’ve got that new version but it’s only a 30gb drive as opposed to the original 40gb capacity. So we’ve gained TRIM support but lost 10gb in the process?! I’ve decided to compare it to that original 40gb drive and even a couple others I’ve got on hand. From my testing it is faster than the original that came out last year, which is a good thing, but it still lacks fast write speeds. The write speeds though are not supposed to be off the charts fast, it’s meant to be a boot drive which means you boot your OS from it and use it for reading from mainly, it’s meant to be paired with a standard mechanical hard drive where you would keep your programs and use that for writing to. For the price it’s well worth it for those that want the speed of an SSD but don’t really want to or have the cash to pay for a ‘regular’ SSD drive. So read on…

Thermaltake BlacX Duet @ Hi Tech Legion

Thermaltake has recently taken their BlacX HDD docking station back to the drawing board and gave it an upgrade. The Thermaltake BlacX Duet offers the convenience of utilizing two hard drives at one time, via USB or eSATA, and is compatible with all 2.5” and 3.5” SATA hard drives up to 2TB. The BlacX Duet is also hot swappable for easy switching between hard drives, if you require the use of multiple hard drives. Since the BlacX Duet doesn’t require any software to install there is no need to carry around extra CDs that eventually get lost.

Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 1GB @ XSReviews

In recent weeks, ATI has continued to roll out its “Evergreen” Radeon HD 5 series range of DirectX 11 graphics cards. The Nvidia v. ATI rivalry that has existed in previous GPU ranges has been a non-starter with ATI able to set out its performance, mainstream and lower end segment cards without response from Nvidia. Indeed, the Fermi cards are not due to hit the markets until late March, six months on from ATI\'s headline act – the Radeon HD 5870. The performance GPUs (5800 series and higher) make use of the Cypress chip architecture with the more mainstream cards using the smaller Juniper core. This mainstream segment of ATI\'s DirectX 11 range was filled with the joint launch of the HD 5770 and HD 5750. So what\'s the difference between the two 5700 cards? Effectively, the 5770 is the full-fat version of the Juniper chip making use of all ten of the SIMD cores with the 5750 trimmed down a little. Today\'s review takes a look at the Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 to discover whether Juniper is able to deliver to the extent the Cypress chip was able to. Let\'s delve a little deeper...

GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 3 PCI Express Card GA-USB3.0 @ Bona Fide Reviews

SuperSpeed USB 3.0 is here and it’s going to eventually replace the again USB 2.0 specification just like USB 2.0 did with USB 1.1. If you want to get UBS 3.0 you’ve got limited choices right now, really only two ways to go. The first is finding a motherboard that is equipped with USB 3.0, they’re rather expensive right now and there aren’t really many to choose from. That route is costly in both time and money really. The second route you could take to adopt USB 3.0 is with something like I have for review today, a USB 3.0 PCIE card that will quickly and easily add USB 3.0 capabilities to your system. Today for review I’ve got the USB 3.0 Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3 PCI Express Card, model GA-USB3.0. This card utilizes the small PCIE slot or X1 slot on your motherboard and will give you two UBS 3.0 ports on the back of your computer. It’s easy easy to install, just a few minutes really and you’re ready to go. So the question of course is how much faster is it?

It\'s been a while since we\'ve seen a CPU cooler at Bigbruin.com, but today we have one of the more popular coolers on the market - the Cooler Master V8. Even though the V8 was launched in June of 2008, it is only now beginning to see its true potential thanks to the popularity of the Intel Core i7 and i5 processors, and the tremendous amount of heat they can produce.

Lian Li PC-T1R Spider @ techPowerUp

Lian Li is entering the bench table market with a few different models soon. We reported about the traditionally shaped ones, as well as the Spider PC-T1 just last week, during our stay at CeBIT. The PC-T1 supports system board in the mini-ITX form factor. Lian Li and Case King were kind enough to arrange for a sample right away, thus we are proud to present you the first review of the most unique test bench - ever. The unit we got is almost the final version, with most of the features set in stone. Lian Li did mention that they are looking into fitting a normal 5.25 inch bay intstead of a slim-line drive on the PC-T1.

AMDs 890GX-Chipsatz @ HT4U

ASUS EAH 5850 TOP DirectCU @ techPowerUp

A few months ago AMD released their new Radeon HD 5800 Series of graphics cards which quickly became a big success due to the numerous improvements made over previous generations. Up to recently all cards available from all manufacturers were reference design cards which means they were all made to the same specifications, using the same components and then a sticker was added on the cooler depending on the AIB. Now we are seeing more and more custom designed HD 5850 cards that use both a non-reference cooler and a non-reference PCB design. While this allows for considerable production optimizations and reduction in manufacturing cost it also introduces the risk that the product might not work as optimally as intended by AMD.
